A male individual had to be rushed to hospital today after a stabbing incident on Mary Ann street.
Eyewitnesses reported that the man, who frequents the area and is believed to be about nineteen years of age, had just alighted from a business place when he was approached by another male who stabbed him in the side.
An eyewitness recalled rushing to the aid of the fallen stabbing victim and attempting to stem a flow of blood with a towel.
Other passers by on Mary Ann Street are reported to have assisted, along with an EMT who happened to be in the area at the time.
An ambulance was summoned and took the injured man to hospital.
Police are reported to have made an arrest shortly afterwards.
The stabbing occurred at around noon.
One eyewitness called for the reinstatement of Operation Restore Confidence, asserting that since the anti-crime initiative was scrapped, there has been an upsurge of violent crime in Saint Lucia.
