Young persons in the Gros Islet District will this weekend have an opportunity to learn about creating their own businesses when they attend a Youth Entrepreneurial Workshop being hosted by the Parliamentary Representative for Gros Islet, Emma Hippolyte.
The workshop takes place at the Gros Islet Secondary school starting from 9:00 am on Saturday 23rd, April 2016.
Participants will be exposed to ideas and experiences from other young persons like themselves who have successfully launched the own small enterprises.
Subjects at the workshop will also include, From an Idea to a Business, Managing a Business, Financing and the Legal aspects of operating a business.
A number of agencies involved in small business development are due to participate, among which are SEDU, NRDF, BELFUND and the Ministry of Commerce.
The Parliamentary Representative for Gros Islet and Commerce Minister, Emma Hippolyte says that the objective of the workshop is to empower young people in the constituency to take initiatives to create employment for themselves.
The workshop is one of the activities for the observance of youth month in Gros Islet.
Accordingly, the Minister of Youth Development and Sports Mr. Shawn Edwards is scheduled to deliver an address at the opening of the workshop.
This is the second consecutive year that the Youth Entrepreneurial workshop which is being organized by the Gros Islet Parliamentary Representative, Emma Hippolyte.
