Former government Minister, Sarah Flood-Beaubrun has declared that Prime Minister Doctor Kenny Anthony has failed dismally and it is time for a change.
Flood-Beaubrun, who once served in a Kenny Anthony administration, has said that the Prime Minister has had enough of an opportunity to prove himself.
“We are in a situation where we cannot afford another term of Doctor Anthony,” the outspoken Attorney at Law declared.
Flood-Beaubrun, now a member of the opposition United Workers Party (UWP), recalled that she has already demonstrated her support for the leadership of UWP leader – Allen Chastanet.
She had unsuccessfully challenged Chastanet for the leadership of the UWP at the party’s 39th annual convention.
At the event held on Sunday, November 15, 1015, Chastanet gained 280 votes to Flood-Beaubrun’s 55.
“Kenny Anthony has demonstrated what he can do and shown us what his best is, so it is important that we have someone else who can have an opportunity to display what he can do,” Flood-Beaubrun asserted.
She observed that Allen Chastanet would not be a Prime Minister on his own, but will be working with a team.
“It is important that we give someone else an opportunity,” the former Minister stated.
According to her, the best Prime Minister Anthony has been able to offer is not good enough.
Sarah Flood-Beaubrun cited high crime, unemployment, problems in the health sector and other issues confronting Saint Lucia.
The former Castries Central MP said she has not decided whether to contest the next general elections.
But she made it clear that if she does, it will be on a UWP ticket.
