A member of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) has been received a top regional award.
Corporal Ted King has been named the Caribbean’s top Community Policing Officer.
King edged out Sergeant Dianne Dumont of Grenada (1st runner up) and Constable Odale Mulgrave of the Cayman Islands (2nd runner up) for the prestigious title.
In December 2014, Amalgamated Security Services Limited in partnership with the Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police (ACCP) launched the ‘Amalgamated Security Services Regional Recognition Awards Programme for Public Law Enforcement’.
The decision to implement the awards programme was taken the ACCP’s Annual General Meeting in Miami.
On May the 12th, 2015, eight outstanding Caribbean Police Officers were recognized at the inaugural Awards Ceremony held in St. Kitts.
This year the second set of winners and runners-up in the recognition awards programme will be recognized at the ACCP’s 31st Annual General Meeting and Conference to be held in Suriname.
Ten police officers from six Caribbean countries will be recognized.
Corporal Ted King is expected to travel to Suriname next month to receive his award.
