Former government minister, Sarah Flood-Beaubrun, is expected to run in Castries Central on behalf of the opposition United Workers Party (UWP).
Reliable sources have told the Times that the announcement will be made later this morning at an opposition news conference.
Flood-Beaubrun is expected to replace Peterson Francis, the UWP candidate who had already been endorsed to contest Castries Central.
According to information obtained by the Times, polls conducted by the UWP reportedly show that Flood-Beaubrun, who is a former MP for Castries Central, stands a better chance of winning the seat.
Francis with his brother, Hermangild Francis, recently switched loyalties from the ruling labor party to the UWP.
The Times has been reliably informed that he will be at this morning’s news conference, and appears to be supportive of Flood-Beaubrun taking his place.
