Guibion Ferdinand, the ruling party candidate for Micoud South, has promised to provide quality representation to the people of the constituency.
Dubbed the “secret weapon” of the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP), Ferdinand told a news conference this morning that his life and belief system are in sync with the party.
“I am very comfortable associating with this party because I believe it is where as a politician I belong,” the former Principal of the Micoud Secondary school declared.
Guibion Ferdinand revealed that from the age of seventeen he started teaching.
He said he has been an educator and a community activist, especially in the development of youth and sports.
Ferdinand has been a coach and a sports administrator.
The 42-year old father of three described youth and sports as being his passion.
Ferdinand will come up against United Workers Party (UWP) leader, Allen Chastanet, in the battle for the Micoud South seat in the next elections.
SLP General Secretary, Leo Clarke, told this morning’s news conference that the party has “tremendous confidence” in Ferdinand.
“We believe our candidate, Guibion, is going to take the fight to the opposition candidate who happens to be the leader of the United Workers Party,” Clarke asserted.
He said as a result, it can be expected that the UWP leader will have no rest in the period leading up to the general elections.
“We feel very confident that on the day of polling when the day is ended, Guibion Ferdinand will be the new parliamentary representative for Micoud South,” the SLP General Secretary declared.
