The leader of the parliamentary opposition, Doctor Gale Rigobert, plans to discuss marketing opportunities when she meets Micoud North farmers this evening.
Rigobert said the gathering will discuss ways in which farmers’ produce can be marketed and sold.
She stated that she has already begun negotiating with an entity that is prepared to buy those items from the farmers.
The meeting is slated for 7p.m this evening, Wednesday May 18, 2016, at the Micoud Secondary school.
Rigobert, who is the MP for Micoud North, told the Times that the meeting will also discuss issues affecting the farmers.
She has invited all farmers from the constituency to the gathering.
“It is a very, very important meeting,” Rigobert disclosed.
She revealed that transportation will be provided from the various bus stops in the constituency.
“I look forward to having a healthy, fruitful, frank discussion with our farmers,” the Micoud North MP said.
She explained that in the days to come, a meeting of a similar nature will be held with the fisher folk of the constituency.
The MP said the meeting this evening will be the fourth in a series organized for farmers in her constituency.
