Former SLP canditate Timothy Mangal issues statement

Former Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) Castries South East Candidate – Timothy Mangal, has issued the following statement. Mr.Mangal is the Manager and Owner of Total Construction Supplies.

Immediately following the 2011 general elections, I approached the Labour Government on several occasions, informing them of many pressing matters I had recognized and others the residence of the communities in South East had brought to my attention which needed urgent attention.

At a meeting held in Vieux Fort a mere Months after the elections, I volunteered to assist in addressing the issues but was told that there are no caretaker candidates in the Labour Party. Having heard others being referred to as caretaker candidates especially in Castries Central, I thought I was rejected. I subsequently realized That I was not the one being rejected but the Government had decided to turn their backs on the people of Castries South East. I say so for two reasons.

1. I was approached after four years to run again for the Labour Party which I turned down.

2. I realized that the constituency has been neglected. The major rivers have not been desilted in over four years and remain heavily silted to this day. As recent as Saturday the Marc area was flooded, the roads remain in a deplorable state in most parts of the constituency including Forestierre, old and new belair, Fond marge, Capitol hill to name a few. No attention paid to the safety of persons living in areas prone to natural disasters.

I must condemn this behavior on the part of a Government that results in the risking lives and property.

All i heard was Timothy Mangal, Timothy Mangal …. Get over it. Not because u went up for the party means they have to listen to your every word and accept your suggestion. Let alone put u on a payroll. If your interest was in the constituency like u claimed u would continue working till your efforts were recognized. Many ppl work behind the scenes in political parties on the own initiatives. U sir are pathetic and need to learn to stand on your own. Your interest is in your self… U belong with UWP… back biting losers

An. Do now we hear it from the ‘horse’s’ mouth. The man says the actions of the labour party were not really against him but meant to hurt the people of Castries South East. So you see. What’s new.
That proves the point all along that the labour party in government marginalizes constituencies that did not support them.

Here it us from the man himself and irrespective of what one may about him for saying that does not take away from the fact that the people were victimized.

Now Dr. Anthony will come to these people begging for votes. But what some may have suspected is now confirmed.

They did it to Micoud people too. Turn their back on them for supporting UWP.

Guy lives in Forestiere, when he was in power he graded the roand and put gravel on it, what do you expect in a short space of time? not port holes or should i say drains in the road? i was expecting guy to give at least his own community a proper road/pave. i am from the community and its a disgrace on Guy, and tell Mangal go rest his sorry complains. Guy was the same one that told him in the last election that he is selling cement rope for a living and now he is campaing for Guy (NO SHAME MANAG )

People if you have someone working for you for ten years and he or she is not producing and some comes in and is producing way much more than that person, who would you dismis if you had to let one of the two go?

The people of Micoud had UWP for sixty odd years and no progress so Gale should not use that as an excuse for doing nothing. However if,the present Government wad smart they would turn that around by caring for the constituency which have been ignored for 60 odd years. UWP eh care because it is a sure seat. SLP eh care because they always losing that seat!

Some politicians are divisive, vindictive, manipulative and arrogant amongst other things in their quest to get rich at the tax payer’s expense.
They keep their supporters on dripping handouts deliberately to ensure continued support.
Some voters will do all it takes to defend politicians with great zest in order to protect that life line which they come to depend upon. Please put your future, your childrens future and St.Lucia first on 6th June.

You come across as a sore loser. You come as one who surely hanged his hat where he can’t reach it. You come across as a man who wants to move unto the other side but don’t know how to go about doing it. It would be interesting to hear what SLP has to say on the matter. After all a story have at least two versions. We need to hear the other side!
