Observer missions for Saint Lucia poll

Observer missions from the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union will be here for the June 6, 2016 general elections, Cabinet Secretary, Darrel Montrope has said.

Montrope told the Times that the US, the UK and the EU have all requested observer status and have been granted approval.

The Cabinet Secretary said he did not yet know when the delegations will arrive here.

However he disclosed that the Electoral Department and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are expected to accommodate them.

“I think each of them might have sent one name as far as I am aware,” Montrope said of the of the composition of the observer teams.

    I wonder what Chastanet knew about that? This man is so full of himself. He always tries to show himself as being more politically aware than he is. Yes chastanet as you see the elections will be observed by the industrialised world. Its important that the loser don’t cry foul maliciously. If I recall correctly foreign observers have a regular presence in St Lucia elections. So Chastanet your call for observers was jumping the gun. Idiot!
