St. Lucia (June 10, 2016): Members of the Hyacinth Family Foundation are delighted with the outcome of its first ever Bingo Fund Raising event, which was held on Saturday May 28th at the Castries East Human Resource Centre, Entrepot.
Scores of supporters, family and well-wishers braved the inclement weather to participate in the event which included fifteen (15) bingo games and a jackpot game with a cash prize of $300.
A range of food items and drinks were also on sale, with a guaranteed lucky dip prize for all who played. According to the President of the Foundation, Mr. Nathan Hyacinth, all those in attendance were satisfied with the night’s proceedings, with many asking to be invited to the next Bingo event.
“This was indeed a fun event to plan, but even more surprising was the great turn out and satisfaction of the patrons, considering it was the first time organizing and even playing the game for many of us in the family,” he noted.
All profits made from the event will go towards the Foundation’s ongoing efforts of feeding the underprivileged every third Saturday of the month in the Bideau-Bolivar Car Park, as well as the food and clothes drives planned for later in the year.
The Foundation also treats members of one of the Homes or the less fortunate from selected communities on the island, to a Christmas lunch every year.
On the heels of such a wonderful event, The Hyacinth Family Foundation would like to thank the patrons for attending as well the sponsors, whose assistance was much appreciated – Windward and Leeward Brewery Limited; Peter & Company Limited; Jane Augustin; Cecily Hyacinth; Grant Jean; Quincy Griffith (MC); Shane Charlery (DJ); Teachers of the Dame Pearlette Louisy Primary School; the Chancery Office and the Management of the Castries East Human Resource Centre.
The Bingo Night was approved by the St. Lucia National Lotteries Association and endorsed by the Eastern Caribbean Collective Organization for Music Rights (ECCO) Inc.
