Dominic Fedee, Saint Lucia’s new Minister of Tourism, has called on all citizens to rally behind the tourism industry and make it theirs.
Fedee made the call as he met with management and staff of the Saint Lucia Tourist Board (SLTB) this morning.
“As a country, one of the things I would like is a greater acceptance and embrace of the contribution and importance of tourism and the role it will play in the future economic and social development of this country,” the minister said.
He described the SLTB as one of the most important teams executing the marketing function of the destination.
“They have done a fine job,” the minister declared.
Fedee paid tribute to the passion and energy with which staff of the SLTB execute their duties.
He congratulated and thanked them for their service to Saint Lucia.
“I am really delighted to come and be part of this team and am looking forward to bringing my own experience from the private sector and particular the Hotel sector, so we will together take the industry forward,” the former Sandals Regional Public Relations Manager said.
