NCOPT requests transport sector meeting

The council hopes to maintain several agreements entered into with the former government administration.

President of the National Council on Public Transportation (NCOPT), Godfrey Ferdinand, has called for a meeting with the new government to discuss transport sector policies.

According to Ferdinand, there are a number of agreements with the former government that bus drivers would like to see maintained – one of those being an immediate increase in bus fares should the price of fuel go beyond a certain level.

Ferdinand added that other agreements include the non-payment of route permits for a three year period and a tax amnesty.
