Prime Minister, Allen Chastanet, has renewed calls for patience on an appointment for Castries Central MP, Sarah Flood-Beaubrun.
At the same time he would not be drawn into revealing whether Flood-Beaubrun would play a role in this country’s external affairs.
Asked specifically whether the former minister in two earlier Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) administrations would be second to him in speaking on international relations, Chastanet’s response was that he was not aware that Flood-Beaubrun had been sworn in.
“Right now she does not have a portfolio and does not have a singular focus,” the Prime Minister observed.
He disclosed that as time goes by, people will know what the MP’s role will be.
“I ask everyone to be patient,” Chastanet said.
He asserted that there is no “difficulty” between him and Flood-Beaubrun or with the ruling United Workers Party (UWP).
Chaastanet disclosed that he and the Castries Central MP have a good relationship and have been collaborating.
Flood-Beaubrun was noticeably omitted when the new administration’s slate of government ministers was sworn in.
