Tourism Minister Dominic Fedee is this week heading the island’s delegation to the three day (July 25 to 27) Saint Lucia Global Association Meetings in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
The Minister has begun briefing delegates on government’s immediate, short term and long term plans to reenergized and revitalize the tourism industry and encouraged members of the diaspora community to continue to be front line ambassadors for the island.
The Saint Lucia Tourist Board has over the past few years been running a very successful program in the diaspora dubbed “Se’ Sanou.” Saint Lucians in the Diaspora are in a unique position to build tourism through Culture and Heritage, and actively champion the growth and sustainability of the main economic sector of Saint Lucia.
The Saint Lucia Diaspora Tourism programme, ‘Saint Lucia – Sé Sannou’ is a marketing initiative between the Saint Lucia Tourist Board (SLTB) and Saint Lucians, that deepens the collaboration through a partnership approach towards showcasing Saint Lucia as the vacation destination of choice in Saint Lucia’s lead source markets – Canada, the US and the UK.
The delegation also includes Director of Tourism Louis Lewis.
