The Met Office here has said that a weather system which it is monitoring, is unlikely to pose a threat to Saint Lucia or the Eastern Caribbean Islands.
According to a spokesman for the office, there is a high possibility that the system will become a tropical depression or tropical storm later today.
The spokesman told the Times that the latest advisory from the National Hurricane Centre at 8:am shows that that the system has winds of between 40 to 45 miles per hour.
It was reported South East of Jamaica and moving towards the West.
“Right now it is moving away from the Lesser Antilles,” the Met official disclosed.
