Northwest Limited, in its continued support of community and youth development through sports and education, steps up to the plate once again with the sponsorship of St.Lucian Olympic hopeful Stephanie Devaux-Lovell in her bid for gold at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Jinero, Brazil.
Miss Devaux Lovell is a 20 year old St.Lucian sailor in the Laser sail boat class who has been sailing from the tender age of just 8 years old. By the time she was 14 Stephanie had won a place in the Youth Olympic Games in 2010 in Singapore, representing her island nation of St. Lucia and has since been working and competing in several events including the Central American and Caribbean Games in 2014 and The Pan American Games in 2015.
A competitor at heart Stephanie admits that one of her earliest driving forces to strive to improve in her sport was simply to be better than her older brother.
Her will and determination has well surpassed that simple goal and since the Youth Olympics she has had her sights firmly set on getting to Rio.
To prepare for the Rio Olympics Miss Devaux-Lovell participated in the British Sailing Championships in Weymouth this year.
At such a young age we can be sure that Stephanie Devaux-Lovell has a long and bright future in the sport of Laser Sailing and Northwest Limited could not be more proud to help sponsor such a driven daughter of the soil. Sail on Stephanie, the world is watching and all of St.Lucia has your back.
