We are proud to announce the Caribbean Youth Film Festival which will be held on 20th August 2016. This festival, now in its 4th year, is an opportunity for young St. Lucians to gain skills and experience in the filmmaking industry, as well as draw international attention to the creativity and talent found in St. Lucia and neighbouring countries. The competition is open to all young people and accepts short films of any style or genre including documentaries, music videos, and narrative films up to 15 minutes in length.
To support the development of filmmaking skills in young people, the Caribbean Youth Film Festival in collaboration with the St. Lucia Public Library system has organised and held a number of workshops in library branches throughout the island. The workshops include important skills such as embedded literacy and employment readiness alongside technical and ICT use training in scriptwriting, filmmaking, video editing, and marketing. The workshops are completely free for all participants.
During the week of August 11th a series of workshops on filmmaking will be held from 10 am to 3pm at Blue Coral Mall in Castries.
