The Prime Minister leaves island for official business

PRESS RELEASE:- Prime Minister Honourable Allen M. Chastanet will leave the island for a three-country trip from August 6 – 14, 2016. Over the course of eight days the Prime Minister will visit London, Paris and Morocco respectively.

In London, the prime minister will meet with the staff of the High Commission for Saint Lucia. He will also pay a courtesy call on the new British government.

In Paris, the island’s leader will meet with marketing agents, as the Government advances plans to establish a buoyant banana export arrangement with France.

During the final leg of his trip, Honourable Allen M. Chastanet will visit Morocco with the objective of strengthening governmental ties, particularly in the area of Agriculture. Over the years, Morocco has been very instrumental in assisting the development of island’s agricultural sector.

Prime Minister Chastanet will be accompanied by Minister for Agriculture Honourable Ezechiel Joseph, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, Physical Planning, Natural Resources and Co-operatives.

In the absence of the island’s leader, Honourable Dr. Gale T.C. Rigobert, Minister for Education, Innovation, Gender Relations and Sustainable Development will perform as Prime Minister.
