Twenty five (25) Hotel and Tourism Workers employed within eight (8) branches of the National Workers Union (NWU) namely: St. James’s Club Morgan Bay, Anse Chastanet Hotel, Spinnakers Restaurant & Bar, Ti Kaye Resort, Sugar Beach A Viceroy Resort, Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa, St. Lucian/Royal by Rex Resorts and Stonefield Estate Resort & Spa will each receive a five hundred dollars ($500.00) Bursary from the NWU for their children.
This amount will be handed out to members of the union’s Tourism related branches who are currently financial members with a child entering Secondary school for the first time in September 2016. The payout comes from the NWU’s Education Fund to which hotel workers have made a significant contribution.
The NWU continues to maintain its thrust with respect to the educational advancement of its members particularly in the Hotel & Tourism industry. This Bursary award along with the regime of fringe benefits that the union continues to struggle for will certainly go along way for our members and their children.
The twenty-five (25) hotel workers and their children will meet at the NWU’s Conference Room on Tuesday August 9, 2016 at 10.00 a.m. with officials from the National Workers Union to receive the EC$500.00 Bursary.
