Police Commissioner sounds warning to criminals

Police Commissioner, Severin Moncherry, has warned criminals and would-be criminals that his men will continue to come at them, using all legal means at their disposal to ensure that those who break the law are brought to justice.

Moncherry sounded the warning while observing that there has been an upsurge in violent criminal activity in the past few weeks, resulting in at least six deaths.

The deaths include two double homicides in Vieux Fort.

The Police Commissioner noted that there have also been reports of the attempted rape of elderly women and burglaries.

“We are working feverishly to see if we can bring a stop to that,” Moncherry stated, adding that the police will leave no stone unturned in their quest to bring criminals to justice.

He observed that one homicide is one too many.

The Police Chief revealed that the police have been gathering illegal guns off the streets and will continue to do so.

However he said that because of Saint Lucia’s porous borders, it is difficult to always control the entry of firearms into the country.

Asked about morale in the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF), Moncherry said that as far as he knows, officers are highly motivated.

“Morale is high – we are prepared to work and will continue to work to the best of our ability,” the top cop declared.

Right now the thugs are emboldened and running amok in the country, because they believe they have the police by the ***** with that IMPACS nonsense.

These animals don’t hesitate to put out the blood of the decent, law abiding, hard working lot. I say we take them down, how we can. That’s how that crap will stop.

To whom this may concerned ..i wish to make a contribution and also a sujestion to the comisioner of police with all the modern technology in this country. Why can’t they get some survalance cameras in various locations port of entry around the island so that they can monitor when the guns and the drugs are coming in and going out. I believe that can create a big impact on fighting crime. This may cost the country quite alot but. Better safe than sorry. Can someone get this little advice to the comisioner of police please.
