Minister Flood-Beaubrun on trip to Taiwan

Honourable Sarah Flood Beaubrun left Saint Lucia for Taiwan on a one week courtesy visit on Sunday, August 21, 2016. She is expected to conclude her trip on Saturday, August 27, 2016.

Mrs. Flood – Beaubrun will be joined in Taiwan by Prime Minister Honourable Allen Chastanet on August 24, 2016.

The Prime Minister left the island for Asia last week, in order to facilitate strategic meetings with cabinet-level government officials, including the Secretary General of the National Security Council His Excellency Dr. Joseph Wu and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs His Excellency Javier Hou.

It is expected that both sides will discuss ways in which the two countries can further promote and strengthen a mutually beneficial and sustainable relationship.

In that light the two islands are currently collaborating on the planning stages of an official visit by the Government of Saint Lucia to Taiwan, later in the year.
