Multiple Soca and Road March Monarch Ricky T is on the move once again, representing St. Lucia at a number of foreign venues for 2016.
On the heels of a successful ‘Soca Explosion – Ricky T and Friends’ event for the second year in a row, the ‘Tizzle’ literally takes flight on a promotional tour for his Groovy Soca Crossover track ‘Freaky Girls’.
The collaboration with US Based Rapper Eempey Slicker was released earlier this year, has gained popularity across the world being one of the most requested songs on radio. DJ’s from Antigua, Guadeloupe, Barbados, Trinidad, the US and the UK (just to name a few), cannot get enough of the track. It was the only St. Lucian song featured at the recent Mercury Beach Weekend in St. Lucia.
From Carnival to Mercury Beach and now to the rest of the world, ‘Freaky Girls’ continues to maintain momentum. Currently in New York, Ricky is expected to do a number of interviews and performances there and he is also scheduled to appear in Miami and the UK. His overseas stint is set to last for a couple of months doing music videos amongst other promotional activities.
‘Freaky Girls’ has captured the attention of heavy hitters in many other genres of music, including DJ Gaboulou of Haiti, affiliated with US Rapper French Montana and R&B Giant Wyclef Jean, who recently did a promotional remix of the track. Plans are also underway to do an official French remix of the track.
The Stratosphere Muzic Team is confident that this song will continue to break musical barriers and enhance not only Ricky T’s exciting musical repertoire but bring St. Lucia to the attention of the International Music Fraternity and keep that attention there.
