Bankers Association announces changes in Friday banking hours

The Bankers Association of Saint Lucia announces new banking hours for Friday banking. The new banking hours on Fridays, approved by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This change in hours of operation which takes effect from Friday 7th October 2016, represents the harmonization of banking hours in territories across the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU). From this effective date all member banks in Saint Lucia will share similar operating hours as the rest of the ECCU banks. Banking hours from Monday to Thursday however, remain the same.

Customers are encouraged to continue to utilize the alternative convenient banking services inclusive of online banking, mobile banking, automated teller machines (ATMs) and debit and credit card services offered by all member banks.

Employers are encouraged to sign up for electronic payroll products to eliminate the need for employees coming into the banks to cash cheques. Funds will be placed directly on employees’ accounts which can then be accessed via debit card at ATMs and Point of Sale terminals. Please contact your bank for further details on the available services.

How about forget Bank of Saint Lucia and all these other lame *** banks. Thieving, unrewarding and inefficient. All they do is take more and give less, just like the bloody airlines. People let us beef up our credit unions instead.

My word. sad but true. I spoke of Saint Lucia. I did not speak about Government; you illiterate. Government is not Saint Lucia. You are if you were born here or got residency, I am because I was born here. Saint Lucia is us ( everybody) from what I can recall. isn’t Daren Sammy’s Foundation saint Lucian? Isn’t it a good thing for the less fortunate? Differentiate between a government and saint Lucia. illiterate idiot.

The ignorance some of our people display are beyond ridiculous. how many of you commenting here have actual need to go to the bank after 4pm?.. you can’t bare the stench of the construction workers clogging up your nostrils but here you are sitting behind a screen talking sh*t.. With the way things are lately this gives ample time for persons to get home a tad earlier rather than be preyed upon in town by these worthless lowlives.. or is it only bankers that should leave work 7 pm on a daily basis
