Blackheart warmups continue this weekend

PRESS RELEASE:-With the 2016 Blackheart SLFA Football Tournament officially launched on Wednesday, the 14th edition of the blockbuster annual competition enters its final weekend of warmup games, ahead of Monday night’s first-round draw.

On Saturday 10 September, the action heads down to the Micoud playing field. Dennery, the most successful team ever in the history of Blackheart, will play Vieux Fort North from 4:00 pm. Dennery is one of two teams to have won this tournament on three occasions, and they were losing finalists in 2015.
In 2015, Dennery lost to Micoud in the title matchup. On Saturday from 6:00 pm beneath the lights, the defending champs and home team will show their mettle in a cross-coast clash against Soufriere.
On Sunday 11 September, the warmup train will hit Mabouya Valley. From 2:00 pm, Vieux Fort South will meet 2011 winners, Anse La Raye. From 4:00 pm, the home team and three-time champs will face off against the young guns, playoff winners, the Saint Lucia National Under-20 Team.
Following this weekend’s exciting warmup matches, all roads lead to the Daren Sammy Cricket Grounds on Saturday 17 September for the first round of the 14th Blackheart SLFA Football Tournament. The official draw for the first round is Monday 12 September from 7:00 pm at Auberge Seraphine.
