The Victoria Hospital “Volunteer for Healthcare Program” is designed specifically for students looking for an opportunity to partner with healthcare professionals while supporting patients and families in a healthcare environment. Volunteer positions are available in selected departments at the Hospital, each with the goal of enhancing, engaging and motivating the volunteer for the future while improving the patient and family experience.
Victoria Hospital’s “Volunteer for Healthcare Program“ offers non-paid training opportunities that will assist interested persons who qualify, in fulfilling their career development goals. Volunteers will be able to enhance their related computer skills, experience all aspects of healthcare, build a resume, and make new lifelong friends.

- A Certificate signifying that you were a volunteer in this program
As part of this program you will work alongside dedicated and qualified healthcare professionals, help in clinical and non-clinical areas, and support the Hospital’s mission to provide quality patient centered care.
This will allow individuals to contribute meaningfully to the development of your community and society.
Participants in the Volunteer Program can work on a variable schedule to accommodate their needs, as well as the needs of the various Departments at Victoria Hospital.
Volunteer candidates may choose to work in any of the following:
- a field that interests them, in which they have met the educational requirements;
- a field they may know little about but in which they wish to gain exposure;
- a field in which the hospital management sees a future need being fulfilled.
At the end of the volunteer period participants will be given a Certificate of Volunteerism, certifying that they have volunteered for a specified period at the Victoria Hospital, and listing the areas in which the participant gained experience.
Volunteers may use participation in this program along with their Certificate of Volunteerism towards meeting experience requirements for various other opportunities that may arise.
NB: THE VICTORIA HOSPITAL VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME IS A NON-PAYING PROGRAMME. VOLUNTEERS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REPLACE PUBLIC OFFICERS. VOLUNTEER POSITIONS WILL NOT ADVERTISED.

Recommendations are welcomed from schools and other healthcare officials via written application. Placements will be based on available space and prevailing need at the time of application.
