Mentally challenged woman suspected of starting fire

A mentally challenged woman is suspected of starting a fire yesterday at Barre Denis, officials have reported.

According to information obtained by the Times, the woman is suspected of having set a mattress alight.

The Saint Lucia Fire Service reported receiving a distress call at about 10.47 am and responded with two fire trucks and an ambulance.

The building, measuring an estimated 45 feet by 50 feet was partially destroyed, according to reports.

The bottom section of the building was concrete while upstairs, which housed a bar,  was wood.

One person occupied the downstairs portion of the building.

    look she just cooked some bean and was hungry and want to dry her clothes so leaves her alone
