Folk Research Centre to Launch Creole Heritage Month

The Folk Research Centre (FRC) in collaboration with the Department of Local Government, Culture and Creative Industries will be launching Creole Heritage Month on Sunday September 25, 2016 at FRC’s premises at Mount Pleasant, Castries.

This year’s launch will take the form of a mini Jounen Kwéyol with vending of Creole foods including local Indian dishes and beverages, entertainment by local groups including games and the display of Creole technologies. The activity is expected to begin at 12 noon and an official ceremony to herald Creole Heritage Month begins at 4:00pm.

All stakeholders are expected to be represented at the launch including producers of the various events, the four host communities of Creole Heritage Month, Sponsors, artists, the media among others.

A shuttle service will be available next to the Anglican School on the Chausée to take patrons to the event at Mount Pleasant.
