Bandits staged a break-in at Castries Comprehensive Secondary (CCSS) some time between last night and this morning.
The intruders forced their way into the Staff Room, making off with electronic items, money and ice lollies -among other things.
School Principal, Marva Daniel, told the Times that some time after 6 O’ clock this morning she received a call informing her of the fifth break-in at the CCSS in the past few months.
“This has been quite upsetting not only for me but for everyone who works at the school because this seems to be a direct attack on the schools,” Daniel said.
She noted that other learning institutions have been targeted.
The CCSS Principal told the Times that from all appearances the break-ins are being done maliciously and vindictively.
“We are not experts in the field to assess the motives of persons and decide why they do certain things, but obviously they are young persons and they have done this with premeditation, ” Daniel declared.
She expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister, Allen Chastanet, who visited the CCSS this morning to express his concern and offer assistance in better securing the school plant and replacing the items that were stolen.
Daniel urged the nation to pray for the youth who are “hell bent” on committing mischief.
She noted that the Staff Room and the Work Stations of teachers were damaged.
Daniel asserted that the damage indicates that the intruders were bent on creative havoc at the CCSS.
Last week at least three men armed with cutlasses attacked two security guards at the CCCS, leaving one hospitalized.
The criminals also stole several items from the school.
