Suspected Drowning at Roseau

Police are investigating reports of a suspected drowning at Roseau.

One eyewitness said they watched the divers look for the body until it was brought up.

According to the eyewitness, the drowning victim was a young male.

Editor’s update: Relatives have identified the victim as 18 year old Nigel Emmanuel.

“He drowned at the end of the river to the sea. He was trying to cross. He said he was tired and he sank. They got him after an hour”, the eyewitness explained.

The incident occurred about 4:30 p.m. today

Editor’s update: Emmanuel was reportedly from Bois Den, Jacmel and was a past student of the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College and Sir Ira Simmons Secondary School.

    Its sad to say good bye .. But life will never be the same for those who truly miss u dearly im sure and hope they get to see u again the pain will remain but they got to be strong and.move on with love knowing u went to a wonderful. Place words can not describe … U were young but god wanted u to come home he had a reason so be strong family members and never forget gods gift of letting u have him because u will one day say him😭😭
