Barbados: 26 pregnant women diagnosed with Zika

Barbados Nation:- WITH 26 PREGNANT WOMEN diagnosed with the Zika virus this year, Barbados could see more babies being born with microcephaly.

There are already two born with the suspected condition which is believed to be associated with the mosquito-borne virus. Dr Leslie Rollock, senior medical officer of health with responsibility for environmental surveillance, told the DAILY NATION yesterday there would be careful monitoring and testing of all babies born to Zika-affected mothers.

She said up to the end of August, there were 616 total cases of Zika reported in Barbados.
