Bar owner shot defending himself from bandits

A bar owner was shot trying to defend himself after two masked men entered his premises.

According to reports, the victim is fifty-three year old Clifton Mathurin.

The incident occurred on Saturday  October 8,  2016  at about 10:45pm.

It is reported that Mathurin of Connections Bar  in La Resource,Vieux Fort, attempted to defend himself with a knife which was in his hand at the time, after the two masked men came into his business and accosted him demanding cash.

The Times was informed that a struggle ensued during which the businessman sustained a gunshot wound to his right arm.

The men stole a sum of EC $300.00 from the bar and fled, it is reported.

Mathurin was taken to St Jude Hospital.

    Brotherman, it is sad that you had to endure such violation but you life is worth much more than what you could possibly have in your cash register. I am so happy that it is the money they took and not your life.

    A knife to a gun fight ??… i ask when will Government change the laws relating to Obtaining licence for fire arm…..
