Marchand group reaches out to the less fortunate

A Marchand group, Hope for the Poor, has begun reaching out to elderly and  disadvantaged residents of the community.

Led by Tamara Joseph, the organization has been distributing food packages to needy residents on almost a monthly basis.

Joseph told the Times she decided to form the group after recognizing the need in her community.

The members of Hope for the Poor contribute from their own resources on a monthly basis to obtain the food packages.

On Sunday the organization held a fun day at the Mindoo Phillip Park for children and the elderly.

fun-dayThe event received support from several sponsors – Big Players Football Club, the M&C Group of Companies, Isinc Meat Shop, KFC, Central Bakery, Cadasse Bakery,  ‘Apostle’  Andre Mason, Du Boulay’s Bottling Company Limited, La Place Salaizon and Come to Me Tyre Service.
