Store owner escapes unhurt after car crashes outside his home

A store owner escaped unhurt this morning after a vehicle crashed into a concrete fence outside his home.

The incident happened at about 10:00 a.m. a short distance away from the Saint Lucia Mission of Seventh Day Adventists at L’anse Road.

Raju Auguste, who operates a liquor store upstairs, told the Times that he was downstairs having a meal when he heard the sound of a crash.

Auguste said upon investigating, he discovered that a Nissan Almera had run off the road and into the concrete fence outside his home.

The driver who was reportedly the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time was unhurt.

He is reported to have lost control.

Auguste told the Times that just minutes earlier he had left the same area where the vehicle struck.

“If I was there at the time he would have killed me,” he said.
