La Clery youth charged in connection with SMC burglary

A La Clery youth has been formally charged with handling stolen goods in the aftermath of the recent burglary at Saint Mary’s College (SMC).

He has been identified as twenty-one year old Chevy Diquoto.

Diquoto was formally charged on Sunday October 16, 2016.

Another individual is in police custody.

Law enforcers have also recovered another laptop which is believed to be part of the stolen goods from the SMC break-in.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.

Two security guards were tied up and beaten earlier this month when criminals attacked the SMC.

The bandits then proceeded to break into several rooms at the learning institution but were interrupted when a passerby heard the commotion and summoned the police.

The intruders however managed to escape.

The SMC break-in was the latest in a series of attacks on learning institutions.
