Saint Lucia last evening felt the effect of a strong earthquake that shook several Caribbean Islands.
Readers of the Times in areas including Riviere Mitan and Saltibus reported feeling the tremor.
The Trinidad-based Seismic Research Centre (SRC) of the University of the West Indies has indicated that the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.5.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or death.
The SRC said that the quake was located eight kilometres south-west of Dominica and was also felt in the French Caribbean islands of Martinique and Guadeloupe.
It said that the quake occurred at 6.08 pm (local time).
Residents in Antigua and Barbuda also claimed to have felt the tremor.
