Teenage inmate at Bordelais Correctional Facility gives birth

A teenage inmate at Bordelais Correctional Facility (BFC) gave birth recently at Victoria Hospital, it has been reported.

The sixteen year old female was pregnant at the time that she entered the facility, persons familiar with the situation told the Times.

The inmate gave birth to a baby girl on Saturday, according to reports.

It was her second child.

The mother has been removed from the general female inmate population.

She and her child now occupy a specially converted room at the facility where she is able to take care of her baby with the help of volunteers, the Times was informed.

The Department of Human Services has also become involved.

One source told the Times that because of the teenager’s circumstances, it is quite evident that she and her baby will be taken care of better inside the BCF than if they were outside.

It was not immediately clear why the teenager had been incarcerated, but sources told the Times that she  was serving a brief prison sentence and is expected to be released within a few weeks.

If at the age of 16 she already has children by the time she reaches 30 she will also be a grandmother. I believe the system has failed our youth. No hope.
We need immediate reform to the juvenile systen. A correctional officer coyld as well be the Father of that child. These guys keep taking advantage over these situations all the time since they believe they are above the Law.

Come on this is not the time to take on the role of correcting fluid. Do not exalt yourself and your literacy over those who were not that fortunate unless the incorrect grammar is expressed in an arrogant way. Humble yourself! Her grammar is “sickening” ??👀 Your response is distasteful! Comes across as an arrogant Pig ! 🐽

Before you make an idiotic comment ensure that you are in the know. Some of you have teenage children that you can’t control yet expect the Law, Government or Police to deal with them, yet when the law is enforced you are the first to criticize and talk a bunch of nonsense. I’m appalled at sime of our people.

Her first child’s father, assuming he himself was not a minor, should be the one in jail as she was impregnated at age 15.
Very sad state of affairs when children keep making children and pregnant children nursing new born babies in jail.
Then we wonder why crime is escalating and we ask for more equipment for the Police, more DPPs and Special Prosecutors, Judges, Courts etc. whilst not tackling the problem at its source. We putting the cart before the horse and trying to close the door after the horse has bolted and all that time Helen bleeding to death due to apathy, ignorance, corruption and incompetent public servants with high wages.

Wow this is really sad. 2 children at age 16? She’s a baby herself. Let us hope that they will be well taken care of even when she leaves the facility.

All yall retardeds, the system didnt fail her. Stop blaming the damn government for people who cant keep their legs closed and parents who have no direction. Yall disgusts me with the bull shit. She is in prison bcus she commited an offense. Its her second child, surely she is sexually active and she knows the consequences of having sex. Stop blaming the damn government, they can be responsible for everything that goes wrong. People need to learn how to be accountable for their own actions. While she might still be a minor she has a brain. Rubbish.
