Young driver injured in collision

A young driver was injured in a collision this morning when the vehicle he was driving ran off the road and hit a utility pole.

The incident occurred at about 9 am at Masade,  Gros Islet, while the car was heading in the direction of Castries, according to reports.

Information obtained by the Times indicates that the car first came into contact with another vehicle before it veered off the road.

The Gros Islet Fire station responded with a fire truck and an ambulance.

The young driver, estimated to be in his early twenties, was taken first to the Gros Islet Polyclinic and then transported to Victoria Hospital.
