Fire Service reports 59 ambulance responses

The Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) has reported a total of fifty nine weekend ambulance – forty-one in the North and eighteen in the South.

There were also three cases of physical assault over the weekend.

No fatalities were recorded.

The Fire Service responded to one call relating to a motor vehicle accident.

One male fell off a motorcycle on Chausee Road, Castries.

He was treated by the responding ambulance crew and subsequently transported in a stable condition to the Victoria Hospital.

There were 5 fire calls received by the Fire Service for the weekend.

On Sunday October 23rd, at approximately 5:45 a.m., the Fire Service responded to a call from the Anse la Raye Police Station about a possible explosion at the Anse la Raye Fisheries Building.

On arrival, there were no signs of fire, however, visible signs of an explosion were evident.

Fire Investigators were on the scene and their investigations are ongoing into the cause of the explosion.

No  major fires were recorded for the weekend.
