Press Release:-On Tuesday November1, starting at 6pm at the Market Square, the community of Laborie will pay tribute to Rudy John, affectionately known as “RJ” or “Awout”.
Mr John died on October 20 after a brief illness.
The tribute will take the form of a celebration which will include folk music and dance.
The event will also trace the life of Mr. John from his early days in Valier, Banse, quarter of Laborie to his academic and professional pursuits. Acknowledgement will be given to his yeoman service to community and country.
The celebration will afford many people that he mentored, nurtured and interacted with, an opportunity to publicly acclaim his positive impact on their lives.
Laborie bids farewell to its illustrious son at a funeral service on Friday, November 4 from 2:30 pm at the Church of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Laborie.
