Chastanet congratulates Trump, wishes him success

Prime Minister, Allen Chastanet, has expressed the hope that with the new Donald Trump administration in the United States, Saint Lucia can further deepen its relationship with the US.

“We wish President-elect Trump success and look forward to working with this new administration and continuing to build on our longstanding friendship with the United States,” the Prime Minister stated in a congratulatory message to Trump.

Chastanet observed that Saint Lucians at home and abroad have been keenly following the US election for the past year.

“We hope that once Mr Trump takes office and puts his team in place we will receive more information on his plans for the future,” the Saint Lucia Prime Minister said.

Chastanet said:

“On behalf of my Government and the People of Saint Lucia, I congratulate Mr. Donald Trump on being elected as the 45th President of the United States of America.”

Chastanet – whatever you are looking for from Trump it will not happen. He does not even care about Americans much less St Lucia. He is a Racist uneducated idiot who just puts a label on people.

I don’t like Trump but what Allen said was merely protocol, and being diplomatic.

    Two observations:

Chasz is simply following accepted protocol. 300+ million people have participated in a democratic process to elect arguably the most powerful head of state in the world.

Based on both his platform and the typical first 100 days in office, and what America currently faces, I highly doubt that the OECS is presently on his radar screen. That will be delegated to an member of Cabinet on whose list it will be also not be on the top of the priority list.

SLU has nothing to come to the proverbial “adults’ table” with

We can only hope that Chasz and his government will take those measures needed to mitigate the risks that our nation faces regarding safety, security, unempolyment, education, and the foundation of both fical and monetary policy.

Deeds speak. Let us closely engage our elected officials by telephone, e-mail, social media, and letters to help enusre that this happens.

It is up to all of un individually and collectivesly to stay in the faces of our elected officials.

    Question more.

Hilary was no better than trump she called black people “SUPER PREDATORS” and beleived in a profitable industry for mass incarceration for blacks…so hilary is just as racist as trump…any of the 2 evils would destabilize the world…so if the prime minister chooses to congrulate it is just move to show a united front…at the end of the day st.lucia will always need US relations to sustain its economy…so we dont have to be idiots and blatantly show we hate them…but play them and use their resources to build ourselves…THATS WHAT SMART PEOPLE DO!
