Press Release:–International Men’s Day 2016 will be celebrated with the staging of a Health and Lifestyle Fair in Rodney Bay (between JQ Rodney Bay Mall and Baywalk Mall) between 9am to 3pm on Saturday 19th November 2016.
This event is a being staged by volunteers of the health and fitness fraternities and admission is free.
It is an extension of Vybe Radio Real Talk morning program and will be hosted by Qwency Griffith (Pringles/Superman). There will be a Daily quiz at 9:15 am on Vybe Radio 92.9/100.9 FM Mon 14th Nov – Fri 18th Nov (1st Prize – 4 weeks personal training at REPTS sponsored by Sagicor)
Disease Specific Organizations (St. Lucia Arthritis and Lupus Association, St. Lucia Sickle Cell Association, HIV Program and St. Lucia Diabetes and Hypertension Association) will be present, distributing information to the public and selling relevant medical devices.
The onsite services available for men and boys are: –
Free Eye (Vision) Screening 9 am to 11am (St. Lucia Blind Welfare Assoc.),
Pharmacy Advice (Pharm. Assoc.) 9am to 3pm,
Dietician (Victoria Hospital) 10.30 and 2pm,
Physiotherapy (Physio. Assoc.),
Doctors Corner (M Care Medical Clinic) 9am to 12pm,
Nursing Support -Blood Pressure, weight, Body Mass Index, waist measurement and blood sugar measurement,
Free Dental Screening 1pm to 3pm (sponsored by Sagicor by Dr S Liverpool of Sunshine Dental).
Free Hearing Test 9am to 11am (Community Nursing Service)
Laboratory Services and Consultations Limited is offering a special onsite blood testing package for men *(PSA, CBC, HbA1c, RBS/FBS and HIV testing =$100, a 40% saving) *. This package is only available on November 19th 2016 at the event in Rodney Bay.
The event is supported by a host of private sector entities. Registration for the 7K Red Cross Fun Walk/Run will be available on site.
