SLASPA Welcomes Port Police New Recruits

Monday, November 28th, 2016 – The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA), held their Port Police Recruit Introductory Programme at the Authority’s Conference Room at its headquarters on Manoel Street. For several months the Port Police Department have been functioning below capacity and as of late came to a final decision to add some new efficient staff onto their team. Eighteen new recruits were added to the force. These new recruits are Firmin Vernege, Jermell Roserie, Adrian Mathurin, Pius Samuel, Edd Montoute, Shayne Francois, Jochelle Joseph, Anna Aimable, Dwight Monrose, Adrian Stanley, Cassandra Justin, Earlan Joseph, Kirk Esnard, Marshall Degazon, Ikey Harrow, Eldine Charles, Yannick Leon and Kerlinus Evans.

The ceremony commenced with an opening prayer, followed by some welcoming remarks by the Chief of Port Police, Mr. Kennedy Francis. Mr. Keigan Cox, General Manager also gave some remarks expressing the importance of the job as  it pertains to the up keep and smooth running of the country’s sea  and  airport operations.

Corporal Philbert Collymore then followed with a brief summary of the Port Police recruitment course, he also allowed the participants to introduce themselves to the group. Deputy Chief of Port Police, Mr. Michael Placide closed off the ceremony where he announced the commencement of the Port Police Recruitment Training Programme.
