Martinique: Drug Boss in dramatic escape

A Commando-style operation in neighbouring Martinique has resulted in the escape of a national of Uruguay who was convicted of international drug trafficking.

The dramatic escape of sixty year old Walter Perez Caruso occurred on December 8, 2016, according to news reports.

Caruso was  transferred from the Ducos prison where he was being detained to a hospital in Martinique to be treated when  three heavily armed men  with masks are reported to have stormed the facility at about 9:am.

The Drug Boss was being guarded by three unarmed officers, French media said.

According to information, the masked gunmen attempted to kill the unarmed guards but Caruso ordered them not to.

The men all escaped on scooters.

French law enforcement has been mobilized in an attempt to recapture the escapees.

An alert been issued inviting persons to come forward with information about the men.

It is reported that the three masked gunmen who helped the Drug Boss escape had strong ‘Hispanic’ accents.

Well if there was one good thing that came out of this is that…he ordered that these unarmed men not be killed. What can I say but praise God. The story could have ended differently for 3 innocent men and their families.

How ironic that the drug dealer exercised judgement and mercy when it was in his power to do so.

You are right. God blessed those guards. Usually this kind of mafia people kill with no mercy.

International drug dealer guarded without weapons. This sounds straight from a comic book. Now that the big boss is on the run, let’s hope there are no copycats from the other islands. I am betting this is a boat operation and the group is out of Martinique by now.
