SAINT LUCIA (December 11, 2016) – Anse La Raye came alive last Thursday night in celebration of the 2016 Atlantic Rally for Cruisers. The event titled ‘ARC Thursdays’ treated at least a hundred yachtsmen to an explosion of delectable seafood and distinctly Saint Lucian entertainment.
A festive atmosphere greeted the sailors as villagers lined the dock to welcome them to the evening’s event. The guests were embraced in true St Lucian hospitality; some danced the night away, or had a first-hand opportunity to man the grills and sample the mouth-watering assortments of seafood and other treats.
The ARC participants, who had made their way to the village by sea, were filled with praise for one of the island’s best known street parties. Thursday’s special edition of the Anse La Raye Fish Fry was the first time the event has been a part of the ARC Calendar of Events and came complete with the usual enticements complemented by a varied offering of craft vendors and hours of musical enjoyment.
This most anticipated event, is one of many in this year’s Schedule of Activities that seeks to expose participants to all that Saint Lucia has to offer and bring the economic benefits of the ARC to as many persons as possible.
Organizers are now gearing up for this week’s sequel where visitors and locals alike will get another chance to enjoy this special event.
The second instalment of ‘ARC Thursdays’ in Anse La Raye will take place this Thursday, December 15th from 5:00pm.
