Press Release:-It was an “All White Affair” at the Annual Coconut Bay Staff Awards held on December 2 nd, 2016. The outfits and décor reflected the purity of white, symbolic of the ultimate goal and standards which stood as the hallmark of efforts during the year. The event was well attended and was charged with excitement and anticipation.
Hotel owner Gary Hendrickson and CEO Mark Adams were in attendance as is customary as well senior personnel/Directors along with over 250 staff members.
Mr. Hendrickson’s address to staff at the gathering was motivational in nature.
He spoke to his initial investment in Coconut Bay twelve years ago and the confidence which he continues to have in St Lucia as a destination.
Coconut Bay staff he noted continue to enjoy numerous benefits far beyond that received by other properties.
He expressed the view that Coconut Bay employees should feel proud and privileged of their association with what he thought was a great and growing company set for even bigger things in the future.
This involves additional investment/expansion and the introduction of a brand new product in the New Year. Staff were invited to determine the future which they would want to secure for themselves in the company’s outlook over the years to come.
The focus of the evening though was on the staff who were recognized and celebrated with impressive award packages in acknowledgement of their contribution to the upkeep and success of the Coconut Bay brand.
The main awardees for the night were as follows:

GM’s Award – Michi Joseph.
Trip Advisor Award – Dillan Joinville
Best Smile of the Year – Theresa Clercin.
Front of House Employee of the Year – Nerissa Lesfloris
Back of House Employee of the Year – Ruddy Hippolyte
Manager of the Year – Nasha Harris
Rookie of the Year – Jazany Peter
Unsung Hero – Brian Spencer/Garon Jean
Department of the Year – Kitchen
The prize packages received by staff comprised cash amounts as well as: televisions, Tablets, Sofa sets, an overseas paid vacation, Linen sets, AC units, Trophies and Plaques, an Entertainment units, Boat rides, etc.
Following the awards ceremony staff members were able to let loose as they danced and entertained themselves to music into the early morning hours.
The Annual Staff Awards is recognized as the most significant event for the calendar year at Coconut Bay.
It allows the Owner, CEO and Senior personnel to place staff in the limelight, to say “thank you” and to reward staff in a tangible way for their hard work and sacrifice.
Quite apart from the major awards listed above some eighteen (18) additional awards comprising weekends for two (2) at other local properties were granted to an outstanding individual from each department of the hotel.
