Barber shop robbed by masked gunmen

Several barber shop customers and two workers at the business place were robbed at gunpoint by two masked men on Friday night, it has been reported.

According to information obtained by the Times, the incident occurred at about 8pm.

One of the employees of Nick’s Barber Shop at Corinth where the robbery took place, told the Times that the gunmen entered the shop as a customer was leaving.

The employee recalled that one of the bandits held a gun to the departing customer’s head and forced him back into the shop.

Once the customer was inside, the intruders proceeded to rob him and about three other clients, as well as the owner of the establishment and a barber shop employee of their valuables, including cash, mobile telephones and jewelry.

The gunmen also made off with hair trimming equipment.

A woman, who was waiting with a young child  in a car parked outside the barber shop for her husband to come out, is reported to have witnessed the two gunmen enter the building.

The masked duo left the shop on foot after committing their crime, according to reports.

Employees of the barber shop are of the opinion that the gunmen may have parked a vehicle a short distance away,  walked to the shop to hold up the customers and hurried back to the  parked vehicle to make their escape.

A report was made to the police and the matter is currently under investigation.
