Martinique cracks down on heavily tinted vehicles

Martinique authorities have announced a crackdown on heavily tinted vehicles.

As of January 1, 2017, front tinted windows above a threshold of thirty percent will be prohibited, according to a report in martinique 1ère.

The publication has reported that offenders will be subject to a fine of 135 Euros plus three demerits on their driving licenses.

The new tint prohibition will affect only the front side windows.

Authorities have said it will allow better visibility for law enforcers during roadside checks, enabling them to better enforce traffic laws relating to the wearing of seat belts and the use of mobile telephones while driving.
