Sandals opening fourth Saint Lucia resort

Sandals opening fourth Saint Lucia resort

Nationnews:-PROMISING A LEVEL of unprecedented luxury never before seen on the island of St Lucia, Sandals Resorts International has announced its plan to add a fourth resort to its award-winning list of properties on the Eastern Caribbean island.

The Sandals brand has enjoyed tremendous success in St Lucia since 1993 when it made its first foray there and the newest resort, to be named Sandals LaSource St Lucia, will by all indications be a game changer.

Groundbreaking for the new resort which will be nestled on 19 acres of land next to the existing Sandals Grande St Lucian Resort is set to begin in spring 2017.

With the addition of this new resort, guests in St Lucia will now have the option of ‘Staying-at-One, Playing-at-Four’.

Building on the concept of unparalleled luxury and innovation which has come to be synonymous with Sandals LaSource Grenada and indeed with the Sandals of the future, Sandals LaSource St Lucia will boast an exotic infinity-edge sky pool bar offering picturesque views of the island’s beautiful north coast, 350 rooms and suites inclusive of the exotic SkyPool Butler Suites and all-butler signature swim-up Rondoval Suites, a first in the chain.

The new resort will also feature an electrifying entertainment package to include a main stage with a 20’ high LED screen and a mobile DJ party scene.

We pride ourselves on continuously raising the bar and Sandals LaSource St Lucia will completely re-energise the tourism market in St Lucia,” promised Sandals chairman, Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart.

“Since we first opened Sandals Regency La Toc in 1993 we have consistently invested millions of dollars to re-imagine our offerings to ensure our resorts and the St Lucian destination is among the best in the world and thereby boosting the local economy.”

You know how many times sandals threatened kenny to pull out of st lucia if he didnt get his way, this thing wasnt just thought up in the last 6 months, so dont make it political, make it governmental, if u want things changed lets go they way of the cubans and take our lands back from the foreigners run them out, but are we prepared to really live on our own no foreign investments, he that dont want the white man’s money cast the first stone…….

The only problem me as a St.Lucian have is that of the all-inclusive concept~ this is not Jamaica. We don’t need to attract tourists by introducing all inclusiveness to protect tourists from getting rob & harrast which is the norm in Jamaica.

Can anyone tell me where I could find a Sandals (StLucia) Employee Satisfaction Survey!

It’s not that we don’t want investment and more jobs for St Lucians.

What we don’t want is our land and rights being sold to FOREIGN investors.

Our employment laws need to change as well.

Think of this scenario Sandals builds 10 more new resorts in St Lucia. They then create a MONOPOLY within the Hotel Industry on island. Now that’s beside them being ALLOWED to purchase OUR land.

We can certainly have foreign investment without selling all our land whereby our children and gran children won’t be able to buy a piece of land for themselves to start a family.

NO FOREIGN Investor should be allowed to PURCHASE land they should be given LEASE options – and start the lease period at 50 years and not 99 years.

Watch the catch 22 situation – the people need jobs, the politicians want to get in power. Politicians negotiate (negotiate isn’t the correct word – BOW) with investors and a new hotel gets built.

People are happy because the hear new hotel coming. We LUCIANS ask NO QUESTIONS of our politicians about deals they’re making. Politician gets re-elected and back into office. Win Win situation right!

NO the government never negotiated with investors the GOV bowed to the investors demands so that they hotel can go through.

Not realising that the Government sold our land for $0.50c acre for 100 acres. Also the Government exempted the investor from signing up to our Employees Laws and Union Representation.

But guess what we Lucians as gullible as we are will think WOW we got a great deal here.

Take a leave out of Barbados’ Tourism Strategy.

Can’t you’ll see who the real PMs of St Lucia are – Michael and Butch with Allen as PR….

    Tanto Tanto Lucians.

“JnPierre” before you start accusing people of being idiots can you not see the underlying issue within the comments (some not worthy of being published) being made!

NO one is saying we don’t want BUTCH, RICHARD, Chung or Royalton as investors.

Number of ROOMS or size of investment are IRRELEVANT.

The underlying issue is our land not being sold out to foreigners and that our people are discriminated against or victimised by these foreign investors/employers…

Now try and put that in your pipe and smoke it.

All well and good having yet another all inclusive resort; however minimum wage needs to be introduced. I do understand and respect everyones opinion as everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but get this St lucia has so many all inclusives how will businesses survive i.e local restaurants, bars, a huge percentage of locals don’t venture out because the they simply can’t afford to shop at the likes of Massys/GL let alone eat out, reason being they get paid very little which brings me back to minimum wage here on this island. I am all for hotels being build for the creation of jobs (at a decent wage) but not another all inclusive. Another all inclusive resort will cripple St lucia even further.

Minimum Wage can also equal to slavery. We should no longer refer to it as minimum wage, it should be “living wage”

Because a minimum wage could be so slow it doesn’t or hardly helps.

But you’re spot on pooling our minds and finances to create our own.

However history and present time shows we black people find EXTREMELY hard to understand the POWER of Economic Strength and acting as one.

If we did then the likes Sandals and others would not be dictating to Governments.

Because we don’t think and or operate in this our Government is TOOTHLESS when they want to rein in a certain investor.

That investor will just turn around and say “ok then we will take our hotels elsewhere” Mr Prime Minister (Red or Yellow) will just BOW and say “ok Mr Stewart forget about giving our people your staff Employment rights”.

We desperately need your business so we apologies and as a good will gesture please take the next 10years TAX FREE. We’re so sorry.

People please do your research before you come online and say stuff.
The land has been owned by Sandals for years now.
    I am reading;
No more Jazz: Who says there will be no more Jazz?..why?
No more beach: The area where the hotel is to be built has never been used by the public. If I am correct it is between Sandals and landings and has been closed to public for years now.
No more Mercury Beach: This year was the last Mercury Beach Event.
A simple search via Google Earth for Sandals Grande would show the area of the 19 acres.
