Two women and a boy are reported to have been rushed to hospital after a vehicle overturned in a drain a short distance away from the Gablewoods Mall.

The incident took place about 2:30 p.m. today.

The incident happened as the vehicle exited the roundabout and headed towards Castries.

According to information, the rider of a motorcycle hit the vehicle, PB1798 at the back.

The motorcycle rider claims that the female driver was hesitating as she came out of the roundabout.

According to his recollection, the driver panicked after his motorcycle hit her vehicle, resulting in her losing control with her vehicle ending up in the drain.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Ucella Hippolyte, another female and a 10 year old boy were taken to hospital via ambulance, according to reports.

A young man who was also an occupant of the vehicle was seen massaging his neck. However, after saying that he was OK, he was not transported to the hospital.

“She hesitated”, so you almost killed her and the other occupants in the vehicle. Drivers, would the five extra seconds waiting kill you? Why must you drive so close in the first place? And look, not a scratch on the motorcycle rider.

The other evening, I waited at the airport roundabout because the path was not clear, only to be berated by a driver in the lane next to me that I was sleeping on me. He also almost caused an accident with the oncoming vehicles, which had right of way.

Precaution is better than cure. Drivers, the few extra seconds of patience won’t hurt. Try to respect people and value life.

U didn’t mind the people business well enough, maybe if you did you would have seen who left on the ambulance and who didn’t. Stupid (Expression deleted).

I do not believe that there is any issue to be made of private vehicles on scene transporting accident victims to hospital, nor should it be used as some tyoe of back-handed comment on the ambulance service.

    Like in most jurisdictions worldwide:
    * There are only so many first response vehicles often stretched over a large area and call volume often varies.
    * The victims always have the choice of waiting for the ambulance.
    * They also have the option of taking private transit of they so choose, and at their own peril. And even if the private transit departs for the hospital before the ambulance arrives on scene, guess which vehicle will arrive at the hospital first? You very see traffic part for some civilian a55 flashing his horn and lihts — not very likely, he only going to vex people and cause an accident.
    * Based on the report phoned in to the dispatch and questions asked by the dispatcher, a priority is assigned — not all victims are Priority 1, nor should they be, that is, unconscious and/or massive bleeding will take precedence over a strained neck and broken arm.

What counts is that there were no fatalities and that passersby and first responders were available.

Given the proclivities of certain readers, I’m somewhat surprised that no one has yet found a way to blame this on politics. LOL.

You guys are all missing the point. Saying it’s free doesn’t mean anything. Free doesn’t have to mean poor quality. It’s a news article in an online newspaper. Stop being stupid and settling for mediocrity. We always tout ourselves as being the best and the brightest, so we should strive to see that through in everything we do. All the responses of “well you can unsubscribe” is the real problem here. It is a valid point that this article was poorly written; so they can do better next time. Instead you all rather say that it’s free so it’s OK for it to be bad. Nothing noteworthy was even posted in this article

Wow! So because it’s free it can be crap? What ever happened to professionalism? And by the way it is not a free service, why you think you see all these ads blinding you on the page? The advertisers are paying for the service. This report is a disgrace.
