Barbados: $1M flood bill OF THE largest motor underwriters in Barbados will be paying out close to $1 million in claims to vehicle owners who got stalled during the torrential rains of Tuesday, November 29. –

A number of the vehicles, which were widely circulated on social media stuck in flood waters, have also been taken off the roads for good. General manager of Consumers Guarantee Insurance, Peter Harris, told the DAILY NATION that 99 per cent of those vehicles were “written off”.

“We had 14 vehicles, a few high-end, which were affected. We will be paying out just under a million dollars,” he revealed. “From a loss position, a million is not necessarily a big loss, but it could have been worse,” he noted. –
